Course Description:
This course is designed to instruct prospective fireline supervisors
in wildland fire behavior for effective and safe fire management
operations. (36 hours + Pre-Course)
Instructor: KEVIN GUERRERO, Deputy Chief - Operations Support -
CAL FIRE, Senior Fire Behavior Curriculum Lead Instructor - CAL FIRE,
DPSC - IMT CA Team 1 and MIKE SMITH, Senior Fire Weather Meteorologist -
National Weather Service - Sacramento
(A Pre-Course
Assignment will be sent to the Host Agency made available to all students
for pick up. This Assignment must be completed
prior to the first day of class.)
Prerequisites:
Completion of
S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior. Completion of I-200
Basic ICS is suggested.
Students will be required to furnish their own Fireline Handbook.
Appendix B: Fire Behavior will be provided to all registered students.
Students will also be required to have access to a Belt Weather Kit for
classroom exercises. You can contact the Great Basin Cache Supply
at 208-387-5104 for ordering instructions.
